Zucker...President, NBC Universal Television Group Plans Tsunami Telethon

According to the Drudgereport, Mr. Zucker...President, NBC Universal Television Group is planning an hour long music and celebrity based broadcast to help raise funds for the victims of the recent tsunami.

I wonder what percentage of this money actually goes to the victims. Actress Sandra Bullock has given $1mil to the American Red Cross. How many professional athletes give SUBSTANTIAL amounts to charity? I believe many are just concerned for themselves and what they will make next year. Does anyone have any statistics on this?

In times like these...are we donating because we feel obligated? Shouldn't we feel obligated in times unlike these to donate money to our own country. Do we not need funds for our children to have the education they deserve? Let's just bring everyone in our country and support them. This babysitter isn't getting paid enough!
